Earlier this week, Singapore's Deputy Prime Minister, Coordinating Minister for Economic Policies and Minister for Finance Heng Swee Keat highlighted Ampotech and its collaboration with Infineon Technologies at an event marking the German semiconductor company's 50th year in Singapore.
In his speech, the Deputy Prime Minister referenced the Infineon co-innovation space initiative and Ampotech's co-development work with Infineon's Digital Security Solutions team, which recently won the 2020 Singapore International Chamber of Commerce award for Best Green Collaboration.
"Besides establishing a large operation base here, Infineon also contributes to the growth of Singapore’s innovation movement. In 2018, Infineon launched its first-ever Co-innovation Startup space in Singapore. To date, this initiative has supported eight local startups, spanning a variety of areas. Ampotech, is one of the startups. With support from Infineon’s experienced R&D team, Ampotech developed a smart meter that accurately measures the energy usage of a wide variety of applications, in industry and at home."
This is not the first time Ampotech has been recognized for its homegrown innovation story in Singapore. In February 2019 Lawrence Wong, then the Minister for National Development and Second Minister for Finance, cited Ampotech as an example of local innovation in energy and building technology.
