Net Zero Unlocked Event Recap – Towards Sustainable Green Buildings with Optimal Costs
30/03/2025The Net Zero Unlocked event – Minizing Investment Costs, Enhancing Efficiency, organized by AMPOTECH, EDEEC, and NEOTECH in Ho Chi Minh City, attracted strong interest from experts, investors, and businesses in the sustainable construction sector. The event centered on a crucial question: How can we reduce investment costs while ensuring genuine sustainability for green buildings?
A resounding success, the event provided a platform for insightful discussions on energy optimization and sustainable development. We were honored to welcome industry leaders, innovators, and key stakeholders, all working towards the shared goal of achieving Net Zero Energy buildings.
Building Design: Avoiding the ‘Oversized Suit’
Kicking off the event, Mr. Trần Thành Vũ, Director of Edeec, shared a striking analogy: “Vietnamese building investors seem to be wearing an oversized suit when designing and approving their projects.” This metaphor highlights the reality that without a proper energy optimization strategy, buildings can incur unnecessary costs while still failing to achieve the desired efficiency.
Cost Reduction Solutions While Ensuring Energy Efficiency
According to Mr. Vũ, focusing on energy savings can significantly reduce investment costs. Some solutions, such as using lighter materials, improving surface finishes to shorten construction time, or designing a thermally and energy-efficient system, can help cut construction costs by 10-15%, or even up to 20%.
An energy-efficient building must achieve four key objectives:
- Lower investment costs compared to the market average.
- Better comfort levels than standard buildings.
- Optimized operational costs.
- Reduced environmental emissions.
AIoT Technology: The Key to Energy Optimization
Contributing to energy optimization solutions, Mr. Phạm Hải, Director of Ampotech Vietnam, shared how the company is applying AIoT technology to enhance energy management. Ampotech’s AI-powered system analyzes real-time data to propose the most effective energy-saving solutions for each building.
“Leveraging real-time data is the game for companies that know how to utilize AI to optimize their operations. Ampotech provides precise input data, and the AI system analyzes it to deliver optimal solutions, helping businesses reduce operational costs while maintaining comfort for their customers,” Mr. Hải emphasized.
Neotech: Environmentally Friendly Construction Solutions
Also featured at the event, Neotech introduced its green building material solution with Neotech bricks. These bricks are not only highly durable, lightweight, and easy to construct but also made from recycled materials, minimizing environmental impact. The product has been certified as a green material by the Vietnam Green Building Council (VGBC) and has received an exclusive patent from the Vietnam Intellectual Property Office.
Conclusion: Practical Approaches to Green Buildings
Net Zero Unlocked not only facilitated valuable discussions but also created networking opportunities among industry stakeholders. The solutions presented by Edeec, Ampotech, and Neotech demonstrated that green building development should go beyond merely achieving certifications—it must focus on tangible benefits: reducing investment costs, optimizing operations, and protecting the environment.
With advancements in technology and commitments from businesses, the future of green buildings in Vietnam is becoming more attainable than ever.
